GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY: A GARDEN GROWS AT NIOBE ELEVATORS

By Canada Malting Co.

This year, the dedicated team at our Niobe elevators embarked on a heartwarming initiative: they planted a community garden! With enthusiasm and hard work, they nurtured a variety of fresh produce, and after their first harvest, they were thrilled to donate 220 lbs of vegetables—including zucchini, squash, potatoes, onions, beets, carrots, jalapeños, and cucumbers—to the Innisfail Food Bank.

At Canada Malting Co., we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting those around us. The garden project exemplifies our commitment to giving back and strengthening the bonds within our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Niobe team for their dedication to making a positive difference! Together, we’re not just growing food; we’re cultivating connections that nourish our community.

As we look ahead, we are excited to continue our commitment to community engagement and sustainability. Initiatives like the Niobe community garden are just the beginning of our journey to foster goodwill and support those around us.

Thank you for being a part of our community, and stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives and ways we’re giving back!

About Our Niobe Elevators

The Niobe South grain elevator, which opened in 1981, is situated just 1.5 hours north of Calgary, Alberta. With a full storage capacity of 3,500 metric tonnes of raw malt barley, this facility plays a crucial role in our operations, moving approximately 50,000 metric tonnes through its system each year.

Not far from its counterpart, the Niobe North grain elevator opened its doors in 1982 and also serves the region with a storage capacity of 3,200 metric tonnes. Similar to the South elevator, it moves about 50,000 metric tonnes of malt barley annually.

Together, these two elevators not only support our malting operations but also contribute to the local economy and community welfare. We are proud of the efforts made by our team to cultivate a sense of responsibility and care for those in need.
