OPENING OUR DOORS: BUILDING CONNECTIONS THROUGH OPEN HOUSE EVENTS

By Justine Johnson

At Country Malt Group, we take pride in building strong relationships with our customers. With a network of 12 distribution centers across North America, we have a unique opportunity to invite local customers into our facilities to learn more about the people who supply their ingredients.

What started as an idea from our warehouse managers has now blossomed into a series of engaging open house events, fostering a deeper connection between our local customers and our passionate team members. By opening the doors to our facilities, our customers get to see firsthand how we operate and the dedication that goes into ensuring timely delivery of our products.

In 2024, we have hosted open houses exclusively for our customers in Brampton ON, Calgary AB, Dallas TX, Delta BC, Monee IL, Vancouver WA, and Vista CA, hosting more than 100 guests. We look forward to hosting open houses in our remaining locations throughout the next few months. Stay tuned to your emails and at your local distribution center’s will call pick up.

Our events have featured local beer that represents our product portfolio, a behind-the-scenes look at our milling and bagging operations, and enjoyable activities, like cornhole and exciting prizes!

A shared appreciation of the high quality of local barley and the closeness to the malting plant”

– Comment from attendee at the Calgary, AB event

“We explained that we put purees on the bottom for a few reasons. First comes safety, having a 42LB box on top of a full pallet has the potential to fall or slide off onto whoever takes the pallet apart. Manually handling the box from a high height can make it awkward and unsafe. Second, if a puree were to leak it could contaminate the whole pallet of grain”

– Discussion with a local Calgary brewer and our distribution center lead on pallet stacking and why puree boxes are at the bottom

“Some said they never seen a grain distribution centre and loved that we opened our warehouse to everyone. A few said they felt even more comfortable ordering from us seeing our operation and explaining them to we have not had a single miss-pick in the last 6+ years”

– Feedback from Vista distribution center manager

“Everyone loves our Pure Idaho malt. 95% of the beers brewers brought were made with Pure Idaho malt.”

– Discussion with Vista distribution center manager and attendees

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to continue this initiative throughout 2024, visiting all our remaining locations. Each event is a testament to the hard work of our team and a chance to celebrate our partnerships with you.

Stay tuned for more updates and invitations to future events. We look forward to welcoming you to our distribution centers and sharing more about what makes our operations unique!

From our team to yours, Cheers!
