Kevin Smith
Kevin Smith is the Distillery Manager of Reliability & Technical Services and the microbiologist at the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Primary responsibilities include management of fermentation and distillation processes, maintaining yeast and lactic bacteria production cultures, optimizing distillery yield, and maintaining new whiskey organoleptic character. In addition to local distillery production responsibilities, Kevin serves as a global technical resource across Brown-Forman’s broader distillery company production facilities and corporate R&D function.
Kevin holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Environmental Biology with an emphasis in Microbiological studies from the University of Louisville.
