Best of the Vest!

Every medal-winning beer and spirit has a story. By Country Malt Group
Sometimes it’s years of recipe development. Sometimes it’s one bold idea that finally came together. Most of the time, it’s countless early mornings, late nights, and small adjustments that only another brewer or distiller would notice.

When one of our customers earns a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup, Canada Beer Cup, or the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, using Great Western Malting or Canada Malting Co. malt, we celebrate right alongside them. And while the medal is the real prize, we’ve found there’s another tradition brewers have come to look forward to:

The Gold Medal Vest.

What started as a simple way to recognize our Gold Medal winners has become something of a badge of honor throughout the brewing and distilling community. It’s a reminder of the dedication, creativity, and craftsmanship behind every award-winning beverage, and a way for us to say, “We’re proud to have been part of your journey.”

When brewers and distillers claim their vest, many leave us a note about the malt that helped bring their beer to life. Together, these comments tell a much bigger story than any single medal ever could.

Here are a few of our favorite testimonials from the people who put our malt to work and turned it into award-winning beer or spirits.
