NEW ADJUNCT PROCESSING AND BAGGING FACILITY
Canada Malting Co. has completed the addition of their new adjuncts processing facility and bagging line, allowing greater quality control and product modification capabilities to better serve craft brewers and distillers.
USING HEAT CAPTURE TECHNOLOGY FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY
A Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant is a natural gas-powered generator fitted with heat capture technology. With the CHP plant, Canada Malting Co.’s reliance on the local electricity grid has reduced significantly.
REDUCING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT THROUGH WATER CONSERVATION
Water is a critical resource in malting and how our sites manage water use impacts both the environment and public water systems. In March 2022, an Optisteep® system was commissioned at Great Western Malting’s Pocatello plant in Idaho to further evaluate its operational effectiveness, reduced water usage, and effluent reduction potential.
PARTNERING WITH CLEANO2 TO CAPTURE CARBON EMISSIONS
Canada Malting Co. Limited (CMC), the largest Canadian malt supplier, has partnered with cleantech company CleanO2 to capture carbon dioxide emissions created from a portion of their operations and convert it into consumer products, reducing their environmental impact.
BESTBREWCHALLENGE IS BACK!
Each year, German maltster, BESTMALZ, hosts their BestBrewChallenge, a competition where brewers from all around the globe can brew a beer simultaneously for the chance to be awarded some awesome industry prizes. The brew days must occur between April 20-23 with all contenders worldwide using similar grain bills in different countries and time zones.
